HUSBAND ARRESTED FOR HOMICIDE OF HIS MISSING WIFE

MARION COUNTY, Florida (March 5, 2018) – On Monday, March 5, 2018, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Major Crimes detectives arrested Vincent LaSara Terry, (DOB: 07/17/1970) for the Second Degree Murder of Chrystal Anette Terry, (DOB: 02/06/1977).

On Monday, January 8, 2018, MCSO deputies received information that Chrystal Terry had not been seen in over a week and was missing. Vincent Terry, Chrystal’s husband, was called to the Sheriff’s Office where he reported that his wife was missing. Vincent informed deputies that Chrystal had left their home on December 21, 2017, leaving behind her personal items and that no one had heard from her since. Due to Chrystal being pregnant and needing daily medications that she was without, Chrystal was listed as a Missing Endangered person.

During the missing person investigation, MCSO Major Crimes detectives conducted a search of Chrystal and Vincent’s home and they located a .22 caliber rifle and 53 rounds of .22 Caliber ammunition, Vincent is a convicted felon and cannot possess any firearms or ammunition.

Detectives also conducted a search of Vincent’s phone where they located multiple photographs of Chrystal who appeared to be deceased. MCSO Major Crimes detectives interviewed Vincent however, he declined to answer questions and requested a lawyer.

Due to the photos on Vincent’s phone, forensic evidence and Vincent’s past history, MCSO Major Crimes detectives arrested Vincent for 2nd Degree Homicide. At the time of Vincent arrest, he was already in custody at the Marion County Jail on charges of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and 53 counts of Possession of ammunition by a Convicted Felon. He is being held with no bond.
