City of Ocala Reports a Spill of Public Access Reuse Water

OCALA, Fla. (Sept. 26, 2017) – Tuesday, Sept. 26, the City of Ocala Water Resources Department experienced a spill of public access reuse water, which has since been contained. This spill occurred at the Ocala Golf Club located at 3110 E Silver Springs Blvd. and involved approximately 239,000 gallons of public access reuse water, which is used for irrigation purposes.

The water involved in this spill has been treated and presents no danger to the public or surrounding area. According to City officials, this spill was caused by a malfunction with a motor operating valve on the reuse storage tank located at the golf course. This valve has since been repaired and is now working properly.
